Sing with your neighbors.

We're building free, all-ages community singalongs in Chicago. You request the songs; we all sing them. No stage, no tickets, no experience needed.

Where this comes from

Our song leader, Brandon Pfeiffer, is a lifelong musician who has hosted a number of singalongs — in living rooms, on roof decks, in a storefront, and in a packed theater.

There’s no audience at these — just a song leader with a guitar, lyrics in everyone’s hands, and a room singing songs it half-knows. Nothing to be good at, because nobody is watching. Everybody is singing.

The tool we built

The songbook, on your phone

freebird.fm is the song-request and tipping tool we built for performers: guests scan a QR code, pick a song, and it lands in the performer’s queue — no app store, no account. A beta build ran the request line at a couple of our own gatherings, and we’re folding the singalong features into it now.
