What we collect from guests

When you request a song, we collect an optional display name and the request text itself. If you choose to enter your email address, we only store it when you tick the consent checkbox — the email is saved along with the exact consent wording you were shown and a timestamp of when you agreed. We also record coarse usage events, such as "a request was submitted" or "a tip link was tapped" — these events note the type of event and which performer/room they belong to, not the content of your message.

What we collect from performers

Performer accounts store an account email and a hashed password (we never store your password in plain text), plus whatever profile settings you enter.

What it's for

We use this information to run the song-request queue, show performers their audience funnel, and — for guests who consented — let performers send updates to their own mailing list. We do not sell your data or share it with third parties for advertising.

Tips

Tips are handled entirely by the performer's own Venmo, PayPal, or Cash App links. freebird.fm never receives, holds, or processes the money (though those apps may charge their own processing fees).

Email

The platform sends account email only — a welcome note when a performer signs up and password-reset links on request. Guests are never emailed. If that ever changes, every such message will include an unsubscribe link — an unsubscribe token is already stored with each contact.

Analytics

We use privacy-respecting, cookie-less page analytics (self-hosted where possible) to understand overall traffic. No advertising or cross-site trackers are used, analytics never runs on admin pages, and your browser's Do Not Track setting is honored.

Export / deletion
